Keep Your Resolutions and Taste at True Food Kitchen

You’ve vowed to start off the year eating healthier, aiming for fresh foods packed with nutrients and making generally better choices about what you eat. Kudos to you, give yourself a pat on the back and now get back to that busy social life and go out to eat. What? You can keep these resolutions while still treating your taste buds? Yup. Or at least you can at True Food Kitchen in Preston Center.

Delivered to Dallas courtesy of Fox Restaurant Concepts, a Phoenix-based restaurant group with trendy concepts that deliver quality and experience, True Food Kitchen caters to dietary needs without sacrificing taste. Based on Dr. Weil’s Anti-Inflammatory Food Pyramid, the restaurant offers fresh foods that are on trend.

As the website boasts, “You don’t have to be a die-hard Yogi to dine at True Food Kitchen. You need only a desire to give your body nutrients, and your palate something memorable.”

I recently went for lunch with some co-workers, including our top chef, which as I’ve mentioned before, is always a treat. We sampled nearly everything on the menu and were impressed by it all. Health benefits aside, the food is simple but delicious, and well portioned. The atmosphere was casual cool, where we felt comfortable on a lunch break but others in yoga gear were equally welcome.

We each started with a Natural Refreshment, which the server described as True Food’s alternative to sodas. I went with the Medicine Man, a natural “antioxidant blast” with sea buckthorn, pomegranate, cranberry, black tea & soda.

We shared the Shiitake & Tofu Lettuce Cups, Salmon Dip, Edamame Duplings and Albacore Tataki.

For my main course, I had the Farm Chopped Salad topped with grilled salmon, while others ordered the Miso Soup, Panang Curry and the Wild Mushroom Pizza.

Taking advantage of a rather large crowd, we ordered almost the entire dessert menu to taste – my personal favorite was the Chia Seed Pudding.
