Dallas’ restaurant scene may constantly be evolving, but we love our staples and knowing that one place will always hit the mark. Tonight one of those staples, Steel Restaurant and Lounge, is celebrating 15 years with a throwback tradition of free sushi from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Steel is also publicly welcoming its new executive chef, TJ Lengnick, who has gained a solid reputation as a seasoned chef around Dallas at other well-known spots like Shinsei, Whiskey Cake and more. Lengnick brings his take on seasonal menu items, while preserving those favorites that Steel is known for.
Johnny and I visited Steel last night, tasting our way through some of chef’s favorites, from sushi, sea bass and filet, to chocolate sushi. Everything was extremely fresh, with perfectly combined flavors. We left the picking and choosing up to the server and chef and were delighted by how different each item was from the next, showcasing a range of flavor profiles.
Stop in tonight for free sushi, $15 sake flights, $3 off cocktails, $12 Veuve Cliquout and $9 Rombauer. Giveaways will be going on through the night, including dinner for on New Year’s Eve.
Can’t make it tonight? Visit soon to see what Lengnick is cooking and rolling up. Let your server guide you through the menu, I promise they won’t steer you wrong! And for those upcoming holiday home and office parties, Steel offers full catering services!
